BEARS-VIKINGS ONE-LINERS

Posted by Michael David Smith on 12/1/08, 8:35 a.m.

Vikings RB Adrian Peterson had 131 yards despite facing a Bears defense that was stacked to stop him.

Said Peterson of playing the Bears, “I really feel like we match up good against those guys. The guys up front, that’s where it starts.”

In the second half, the Bears had three interceptions and four punts.

Said Bears QB Kyle Orton, “If you’re going to win these tough games, you’ve got to make plays and you’ve got to capitalize. Against a defense like this, you’re not going to have too many opportunities down there.”

Bears DE Alex Brown said losing to the Vikings hurt even more than losing to the Packers.

Vikings WR Bernard Berrian said of playing well against the Bears, “It’s great to do this against a team you used to play for. You always want to have a great showing against that type of team.”

Bears CB Charles Tillman had a disappointing game.

Bears coach Lovie Smith said of the Vikings’ goal line stand against the Bears’ offense, “You’ve got to be able to get the ball in on four tries from the 1. If you can’t get it in from there, you don’t deserve to win.”

John Randle was inducted into the Vikings’ Ring of Honor.

The Vikings are all alone in first place in the NFC North.

Damn good game by the defense. The offense wasn’t too bad, but it had the makings of a classic Vikings implosion for most of the first quarter. Glad to see the team get over the hump and the players overcome the playcalling.

As much as we’d all like to see Chilly given the boot, amazingly enough, for now at least, this puts the Vikings on top of the division.

yeah rightfully so freedomispopular. Chilly has had his share of bonehead mistakes, but since we have installed a qb that has an arm and is pretty smart in reading defenses the Vikes are 7-3. Chilly does make some awful decisions at times, but honestly he has gotten better this year then last. We’re in great position right now, we shall see how we will do the final 4 games and it will be interesting to see what happens to the Williams’ either today or tomorrow.

Uhh, just for consideration, Chilly is now 7-3 in his last 10 games and 12-5 in his last 17. With two guys at QB who likely wouldn’t start for the majority of NFL teams.

Of course, the Vikes could be doing this well not BECAUSE of Childress, but rather in SPITE of him.

AWESOME GAME!!!!! I’ll be curious to see if the NFL brings the hammer down on the DL who knocked the stuffing out of Ferott.

Read the Pack and Bear rags and half the conversation is about the Vikes falling back to the NFC North when the Williams boys are suspended — pretty frigging pathetic (or more appropriate — desperate). The Vikes ain’t Super Bowl contenders by any means, but in the words of our immortal former head coach “the Bears and the Pack are who we thought they were”.

No comment on the blatant late hit on Gus? Come on Florio you seem to jump the Allen and Edwards wheres your take on the hit? Clearly late, but Gus take a bit of a dive?
