SUNDAY MORNING ONE-LINERS

Posted by Mike Florio on 7/6/08, 10:57 a.m.

Former NFL player and FOX broadcaster Bill Maas talks about his very bad year.

The Boz (Brian, not Scaggs) rescued a woman who crashed her car into a ditch.

Steelers LB James Farrior has found a fountain of youth that doesn’t entail the letters H, G, or H.

Titans WR Mike Williams is trying self-imposed amnesia as a way to avoid complacency.

Bucs coach Jon Gruden is leaning toward young players.

The Saints have taken no steps to sign any of their draft picks.

Here’s (another) look at the Packers’ options with Brett Favre.

The opening of the first training camp is only thirteen days away.

The Brett Favre situation is similar to the Barry Sanders saga from nearly a decade ago — except for the fact that Sanders didn’t openly toy with retirement for six years before doing so, and didn’t ponder coming back less than four months than quitting.

“NFL players seem to have become part Maximus Decimus Meridius, part Fred Astaire.”  (I will have my tango, in this life or the next.)

Friends of former Chargers S Terrence Kiel who were at a nearby party tried to save his life after he crashed his car.

A couple of Miami teenagers interviewed Don Shula.

Pat Bowlen has owned the Broncos for 25 years.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy loves rookie WR Jordy Nelson.

Twins G.M. Bill Smith (who?) agrees with Roger Goodell’s position on big money payments to unproven players.

Jean-Jacques Taylor of the Dallas Morning News thinks that Cowboys fans shouldn’t fret about the possibility of Brett Favre returning to the Packers.

The Steelers prohibit at Heinz Field ”displays of affection not appropriate in a public setting.”

The Steelers should spend more time worrying about their own grass on the field instead of what the butt-ugly women in the stands are doing with theirs.

Hey dolfan 565, before judging the female fans of the Steeler Nation, why don’t you post your picture so we can judge you?

    @dolfan565

Have you been to Pittsburgh recently? They have quite a large number of very good looking females. And Pittsburgh’s women actually support the team. I’ve never seen a town that has as many woman fans.

I think I’d prefer Bosworth to Boz Scaggs if I was pinned in an automobile. Unless I was going to die anyway and wanted “Lido Shuffle” to be the last earthly thing I heard . . . .
