(Every year at this time, minicamps start popping up around the NFL. And we look for all relevant information about what went down in each city and post the info right here, in One-Liner format. In Miami, a rookie minicamp opened on Friday.)
LT Jake Long didn’t know who Stephen Ross was.
If LB Keith Saunders didn’t know who Long was, Saunders likely does after catching an elbow from the No. 1 overall pick.
Long is wearing No. 79, but could end up back in his more familiar No. 77.
Long is also pimping Ford, apparently without pay.
Converted QB Jayson Foster took all his snaps at receiver.
Foster raved about QB Chad Henne: “[H]e throws better than I can!” (Which might have something to do with the decision to make Foster a wideout.)
The Tuna loomed large, but wouldn’t talk.
The quarterback gig is an open competition between Henne, John Beck, and Josh McCown.
Rookies Shawn Murphy and Donald Thomas are in the mix to start on the offensive line.
The Rams supposedly were thinking about trading up for Henne.

If you click on the Bill Parcells looms large link, you can clearly see two players wrestling around in the background of the picture. So much for no contact in minicamp. But if no one else cares, I don’t either.
And, don’t worry Jake, not many people do know who Stephen Ross is.

That call from the Rams must have been a ruse to get someone else to move up and push another player to the Rams, since they did not take him at 33. But then that would require the Rams to suspect the ‘Fins would not take Henne at 32.
